Field Trip

Eli had his first field trip this year. They went to the splash park
that is not far from the school.
It was really hot. The kids had a blast.

Happy 7th Birthday!

My little guy is 7!!!!! Can't believe how fast
time flies.  This last year has been a adventure.
 We moved and  changed schools
and he is loving it. He has met
 some new fun friends.
I can't seem to get this kid
to come in the house for more than 10 minutes.
He loves being outside  getting dirty. He had a f
un birthday. He went to school and then
came home to a new trampoline.
We had some friends and family over for
cake and ice cream.

First Day of 1st Grade!

I can't believe my little man is in 1st Grade! He was excited
and nervous to be starting a new school.  He  is the
bravest kid I know. I would have been so scared to go to
a new school not knowing anyone. The night before school
I was trying to get him to pick out his clothes. I asked him
what he wanted to wear, he looked at me and says, "duh! Clothes!"
I forget that boys just don't really care about there clothes.
All he cared about was his cool new bright orange shoes
he can run fast in.  He woke up on the first day like it
was Christmas. I walked him into his classroom and he
just wanted mom to leave. This year he will be seeing me a lot
. With his new Diabetes diagnosis, I will be having lunch with
him everyday. I am sure he is gonna get sick of me.

Summer Fun :)

I feel like summer has just flown by. These are just a few random
pics from this summer. We had so much going on that I hardly
took any pics this summer. We went to the Discovery Center
at the Gateway. They only thing Eli liked there was
pretending to be on the news.
We got out of the hospital a day early so we went to Heber
to go on a train ride. When we got there they were closed. So
we took some pics on the trains. Looks like we will
 have to go back soon!

Eli and his new best friend! Eli got a dog
when we moved and he just loves this puppy.

One eventful summer...

Eli was taken by ambulance to Primary Children's Hospital  on July 26,2012. He had seen his doctor that day and his sugar levels were very high. He was then diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.  We spent 4 days at Primary Children's learning all that we could to manage it. It broke my heart to see him sick. I could not stop crying for the first day. We were all in complete shock that he could have diabetes. We have no family history. We went to classes for 3 days to learn all we could. I used to be so afraid of needles, but not anymore! It was the hardest thing to have your child be sick and have to get multiple shots all day long. I am so thankful they have great medicine to help these kids. With medicine they live a normal life. It's just a huge lifestyle change. He has been such a brave little guy. He hasn't been scared to get his shots. Some volunteers at the hospital gave him a bear to practice giving shots on. He had such a hard time staying in that hospital room. He wanted to run and play. Primary Children's had lots of fun stuff to do. He had a play station in his room he could play and down the hall was a huge craft room for the kids to make stuff.

Walking around the hospital getting ready to go home!
